"Blight-house"

Films: Cold Skin (2017)

Alias: Toads (Aneris)

Type: Natural

Location: Ocean/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: This year was apparently the one where people got horny for fish-people, and thus, we got two movies out of it. But before Guillermo del Toro's masterpiece, we had a very different tale of piscine romance. One that was a bit darker, drearier, and where there was more than just one of them...

History: Somewhere in the South Atlantic, there's a deserted rocky island with a lighthouse, and precisely two occupants. Or actually, many of them. There are the two humans tasked with being there, and the hordes of humanoid fish-folk lurking below the waves that attack the place every night. But they aren't attacking because they're hungry. It turns out that the lighthouse keeper stole a female of their species, and kept it as a sex slave to beat around. Naturally, this unnerves his new assistant, who names the poor creature Aneris, and slowly realizes that these beings are in no way malicious, just very angry most of the time, and for perfectly good reasons...

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After the lighthouse keeper goes off the deep end trying to kill the creatures, his assistant subdues him by reminding him of his life before he went insane. Filled with grief, the keeper lets the monsters kill him, with the kind assistant taking his place and ensuring that the humanoids never see such pain and death again.

Powers/Abilities: The growths on the humanoids' ankles are small flippers that enable them to swim with grace. Even on land, they are all ridiculously fast.

Weakness: Anything conventional, but they hate bright things the most.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-The nature of these beings is hard to pinpoint, but one thing is for certain. A lot of horrible needless carnage could have been avoided if that crusty seaman had must let that female go. Then maybe he could have appreciated how human and somewhat adorable these folks really are. But as it stands, he made them become savage swarming killers. Bottom line, you screw with one of them, you screw with them all.

Trivia: -Aneris' name is the backwards-spelt version of the Spanish phrase for "Siren".

-Originally, Elena Anaya was going to be Aneris, but she was replaced with Aura Garrido.
